The four-bedroom property can be rented along with its sister villa, Chalet Opale, to accommodate a total of eighteen friends or family members, and guests have the choice of self-catered or fully catered stays.
Self-catered stays at Chalet Ambre include housekeeping and lift pass delivery, and fully catered stays add chef and host service, fitness and yoga sessions, canapés and four-course dinners on select evenings, and access to a shared driver at the start and end of each day. If you’ve brought your own vehicle, you can leave it in the villa’s reserved parking; if you’ll be skiing in, leave your gear in the storage area. A soak in the outdoor hot tub with a view of the Alps is just the way to bliss out after a day on the slopes, followed by a glass from the wine cooler, a playlist on the sound system and a stint in front of the wood-burning fireplace.
The villa’s classic peaked roof and timber and stone walls are echoed indoors by a sloped, paneled ceiling and stone hearth. The great room’s open-plan layout and furnishings, however, are all modern and centered around a sleek three-sided fireplace. Stretch out on the long L-shaped sectional, rest your feet on a calfskin pouf or gather in nailhead-detail chairs around the rustic wooden dining table. If you’ve chosen the self-catering option, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar at your disposal.
Each of the four bedrooms at Chalet Ambre has a king bed, en-suite bathroom and view of the mountains. The master suite opens to its own private balcony, and the other three bedrooms open to a terrace. For families traveling with children, one of the king bedrooms opens to another room with bunk beds.
When the snow is high, it’s possible to ski directly from the villa to the Almes ski run; when it’s low, it’s a short walk to the slope instead. You’ll find more of the Tignes lifts a 5-minute walk away, as well as the modern Tignes village center. There are more shops and restaurants in the Val Claret village center, 2 miles away, and it’s worth a visit to Val-d’Isère, 7.5 miles away, for a look at the charming architecture or to relive your honeymoon over a romantic dinner. In warmer months, it’s just 1 mile to Golf du Lac de Tignes. At the end of your stay, make your connection via Chambéry Airport or Geneva International Airport.
